James Kang

James Kang is an Argentine tango dancer and instructor based in Oakland, California. With 12 years of experience, he is known for a grounded, technically refined approach to salon tango. His dancing is shaped by strong body awareness, biomechanical sensitivity, and musicality, with an emphasis on clarity, adaptability, and connected partnership. He often thinks mastering technique ensures the body does not prevent the soul from expressing itself. He has taught, performed, and organized in the Bay Area, working with dancers across classes, practicas, studios, and community spaces.

Salon style focused, Bobby has been teaching, competing and taxi dancing since 2022.
