Clarifications for the Official categories:
- Each Official category at ATUSA, – the OFFICIAL PRELIMINARY OF TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP since 2011 – will have one champion couple who will automatically qualify to compete at the SEMIFINAL rounds of the TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP 2023, representing the PRELIMINARY, – and not the city of origin or residence of the dancers, without exception.
- If the champion couple in any of the official categories renounces to participate in TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP from the semifinal instances, it will automatically also renounce to the prizes (see below), leaving both members of the couple unable to participate in TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP 2023.
- In those cases where the competition in one or both categories has lost its official character for not having the minimum participating couples, the Organization of the PRELIMINARY will be exempted from the obligation to grant the winning couple the prize consisting of full coverage of costs of travel and stay. In this case, the Organization may choose to offer alternative prizes for the non-official competition.
2023 PRIZES FOR TANGO DE PISTA (Official Category)
First Place:
The first-place winning couple of the Argentine Tango USA Championships will receive the following:
- A Trophy for winning the Argentine Tango USA Official Championship 2023 – Tango de Pista category, First Place.
- The official Title of Argentine Tango USA Tango de Pista Official Champions 2023.
- Round-trip airfare from the city of residence of winning couple to the City of Buenos Aires to compete at the Semifinals of the Tango BA Dance World Cup 2023.
- Accommodation for the days of the World Cup Preliminary’s Gala, Semifinals and Finals of TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP 2023, in the month of August.
- A performance at “Gala de los Campeones” at Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup Festival.
- A $150 value voucher for a tango dress (social style) by Mimi Pinzon for the woman (Official Sponsor of Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup).

NOTE: In the event that there are less than 10 competing couples, the Stage Tango category will lose its official character for the current year and therefore the titles and prizes would be different:

- The Title of Argentine Tango USA Stage Tango Champions 2023.
- A Cash Prize of $400 (US dollars) for the couple.

If there are 4 or 5 competing couples:

2022 PRIZES FOR STAGE TANGO GROUP (This category was cancelled for year 2023)
With 1 or 2 registered groups, the competition will become a group showcase with evaluation by the Official Jury, and:
- A plaque of recognition will be awarded to the teachers/choreographers of the participating group/s.
- All contestants will receive participation certificates.
If there are 3 registered groups, it will be a competition, and:
- A trophy will be awarded for Best Choreography & Execution
- A plaque of recognition will be awarded to the teacher/choreographer of the 3 groups.
- An ATUSA tote shoe bag and t-shirt for the teacher/choreographer of the winning group.
- An ATUSA tote shoe bag will be awarded to each group member.
- All contestants will receive participation certificates.
If there are 4 to 8 registered groups, a trophy will be awarded for:
- Best Choreography;
- Synchronicity
and: - A plaque of recognition for Best Choreography will be awarded to the teacher/choreographer of the group/s winning in Best Choreography.
- Recognition certificates for all teachers/ choreographers.
- An ATUSA tote shoe bag/t-shirt for the choreographer/s of the winning group/s.

If there are more than 8 registered groups, a trophy will be awarded for:
- Best Choreography;
- Best Technical Execution
- Synchronicity
- Musical Interpretation.
- A plaque of recognition for Best Choreography will be awarded to the teacher/choreographer of the group/s which have won in Best Choreography.
- Recognition certificates for all teachers/ choreographers.
- An ATUSA tote shoe bag/t-shirt for the choreographer/s of the winning group/s.
