Prizes 2026

World Cup Championship Update 2026 for the Official categories:

  1. Each Official category in ATUSA OFFICIAL CHAMPIONSHIP, the US PRELIMINARY OF TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP – will have one champion couple who will represent the Preliminary at TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP 2026 – and not the city of origin or residence of the dancers, without exception.
  2. If the champion couple in any of the official categories renounces to participate in TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL AND DANCE WORLD CUP, it will automatically also renounce to the Prizes (see below), leaving both members of the couple unable to participate in TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP 2025.
  3. For the competition to be considered official, there must be at least ten (10) couples in the Stage Tango category and at least twenty (20) couples in the Tango de Pista category.
  4. The Champion couples from Preliminaries with fewer than 40 couples in Tango de Pista and fewer than 20 couples in the case of Tango Escenario (Stage Tango), will compete directly in the Quarter Finals instance along with the couples who have qualified in the qualifying rounds. (The Quarterfinals is a new stage of the TANGO BUENOS AIRES DANCE WORLD CUP will take place on a specific day between the Qualifying Rounds and the Semifinal Rounds).
  5. In those cases where the competition in one or both categories has lost its official character for not having the minimum participating couples, the Organization of the PRELIMINARY will be exempted from the obligation to grant the winning couple the prize consisting of full coverage of costs of travel and stay. In this case, the Organization may choose to offer alternative prizes for the non-official competition. 

First Place:

The first-place winning couple of the Argentine Tango USA Championships will receive the following (if there are 20 to 40 competing couples):

  1. A Trophy for winning the ATUSA Official Championship 2026 in Tango de Pista – First Place.
  2. The Official Title of ATUSA Tango de Pista Official Champions 2026.
  3. Round-trip airfare from the city of residence of winning couple to the City of Buenos Aires to compete at the Quarterfinals of the Tango BA Dance World Cup 2026.
  4. Accommodations for the days of the Quarter Finals, Semifinals and Finals of TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP 2026.
  5. A $200 value voucher for a tango dress (social style) by Mimi Pinzon for the woman (Official Sponsor of Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup).
  6. A $180 value voucher by Claudio Gonzalez shoes for the man.
  7.  A Full Pass for the couple to attend the Tucson Tango Festival in 2027.
  8. A set of Eye Cream “Cabeceo” + Serum “Ocho” + Moisturizer “Boleo” for the couple by Embrace Kincare
  9. A lipstick “Cabeceo” for the woman by Embrace Kincare
  10. An AMBCTA Association (Buenos Aires) Membership for the couple with all benefits for the current year.

NOTE: in the event that there are less than 20 competing couples, the Tango de Pista category will lose its official character for the current year and therefore the titles and prizes for the 1st Place would be different (see below)*


Second Place:

  1. A Trophy for winning the ATUSA Official Championship 2026 in Tango de Pista, Second Place.
  2.  An official certificate for winning the ATUSA Official Championship 2026 in Tango de Pista, Second Place.
  3. A Full Pass for the couple to attend the Tucson Tango Festival in 027
  4. A $200 discount certificate to compete at ATUSA 2027 (Tango de Pista category)
  5. A Full Pass for the couple to attend the Tango Monterrey Bay Marathon in August 2026.

*NOTE: in the event that the Tango de Pista category will lose its official character for the current year, the titles and prizes for the 1st Place would be different:

  • If there are 16 to 19 registered couples:

    First place:
  1. A Trophy for winning the ATUSA Championship 2026 – Tango de Pista category, First Place.
  2. The Title of ATUSA Tango de Pista Champions 2026.
  3. Round-trip airfare from the city of residence of winning couple to the City of Buenos Aires to attend/compete at the Tango BA Dance World Cup 2025.

  6.  A Full Pass for the couple to attend the Tucson Tango Festival in 2027
