Virginia Gomez and Christian Márquez have been dancing together since 1997, studying under acclaimed teachers such as Natalia Games and Gabriel Angio, Esther and Mingo Pugliese, Raúl Bravo, and Toto Faraldo. Their professional debut came at Café Tortoni in Buenos Aires, where they performed in the tango show “Raíces.” This marked the beginning of their extensive career, featuring performances at numerous milongas and tango venues in Buenos Aires, including Salón Canning, Club Gricel, Club Sin Rumbo, Sunderland, Salón La Ideal, and Club Social Rivadavia.

Their journey as tango masters began in 2000 when they initially stepped in for Natalia Games and Gabriel Angio at Salón Canning, and later started teaching their own tango classes at La Casa del Tango, The Cathedral of Tango, and Sunderland Club.

In 2003, they embarked on their first international tour of Europe, performing at major tango festivals in San Sebastián and Frankfurt, and conducting workshops across Germany, Switzerland, and Spain. The following year, they appeared in the show “Los Tangos de La Cábala,” directed by the renowned Guillermina Quiroga.

In 2004, they became a permanent part of Piazzolla Tango, performing in a show directed by the famous Milena Plebs. They stayed until 2008, working with other distinguished choreographers like Roberto Reis and Mario Morales. During the same year, they toured Ukraine and Russia with Copes Tango Copes, led by the legendary Juan Carlos Copes. They also traveled to Santiago de Chile to give tango seminars and participated in significant festivals in Kyoto and Tokyo.

In 2006, they were featured as the lead couple in the Gotan Project’s music video “Different” and joined the Belgian production company “O Tango,” directed by the talented Alejandra Hobert and Adrián Veredice. They toured France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, and other European countries with this production until 2010.

From 2011 to the present, they have conducted at least two international tours each year, participating in notable tango festivals and offering shows and seminars across Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America, and North America. Their tours have included destinations such as Brussels, Rome, Milan, Tokyo, New York, São Paulo, and many more.

In 2019, they were honored with the “Premios Tango” award for “Couple of the Year” for their exceptional work during 2018, an accolade given in Buenos Aires and organized by CITA, the Tango Festival.

Due to the global pandemic in 2020, they paused their international tours but continued to engage virtually. They participated in events such as the Unidos Tango Festival, Escuela Técnica de Tango, Embrace Tango Festival, and several other online festivals.
In 2021, they performed in Argentina at Arequito and Argentina Florece Tango. Their 2022 schedule included the Argentina Tango Salón Festival, CITA International Congress, and tours across Brazil, the United States, and Europe.

Their 2023 tour featured a range of events and festivals, including Marathon Milonguera, Encuentro Patagónico, and CITA. Upcoming plans for 2024 include performances and workshops in Argentina, Japan, Dubai, and other international locations.
In Argentina, they travel to various provinces to teach and perform in cities such as Santa Fe, Rosario, Córdoba, Mendoza, and San Martín de Los Andes. In Buenos Aires, they are actively involved in major tango festivals like CITA, Tango Salón Extremo, and the Mujercitas Tango Festival. They are also invited by the Buenos Aires city government to serve as judges for the Metropolitan Tango Championship and the World Tango Championship. Additionally, they continue to teach classes and seminars at various milongas and their own studio in Palermo, nurturing the next generation of tango dancers.
