Tango Bardo

Tango Bardo is one of the most popular Argentinian tango bands. Their music is heard and danced around the world. Their personal sound and style is chosen by the best professional tango dancers for their exhibitions or competitions. Worldwide Tango Djs include always Tango Bardo in their milongas .

The band formed by Juan Miguens on double bass, Lucas Furno on violin, Santiago Polimeni on bandoneon, Lorena Donvito on piano and Roberto Minondi on voice.
The band was formed in 2014. That year they participated in the Musical show “Chantecler” by the famous dancer Mora Godoy.

With this show they performed in Paris (Chatelet theatre), Tokyo (Orb theatre) and Buenos Aires(at the Alvear theatre , The Opera and Teatro Astral).

In the milonga circuit they debuted at La Viruta, and quickly became part of the regular programming of milongas such as: Villa Malcolm, Salon Canning, Salon Gricel, Marabu, El Beso, etc. They also travel throughout Argentina performing in milongas, theaters and festivals (Rosario, Rio Cuarto, Baradero, La Rioja, Tucumán, Arequito, La Plata, Carlos Paz, Olavarria, Mar del Plata, etc).

In 2015 they were invited to play at the gala milonga of ETI (Encuentro de Tango del Interior) were more than 1000 tango Dancers enjoyed them at the in the city of Rio Cuarto.

Tango Bardo was the musical staff of different Tango dance Companies between 2015 and 2017 such as:

Compania Mora Godoy, Tango Legends and Tango Desire, with which they toured China, Thailand, Singapore, France, Japan, Uruguay, Chile, Spain and the interior of Argentina: Rosario, Mendoza, Cordoba.

Tango Bardo Musicality Workshop: Layers, Rhythms, and Styles

Dive deep into the rich complexity of Argentine tango music with the members of Tango Bardo. This 60-minute workshop offers dancers and aficionados an essential framework for understanding and interpreting the genre. The session begins with historical context and an analysis of the functions of typical tango instruments, tracing the music’s evolution through time. Participants will learn to recognize the signature styles of famous orchestras and differentiate between tango, milonga, and vals. The core of the workshop focuses on practical musical elements, breaking down concepts like different types of marcatto and phrasing, understanding how to approach singing a tango solo, and identifying the multiple layers of tango music.
The session culminates in a guided exercise where participants dance together to famous tangos, applying their newfound knowledge to interpret the music’s intricate layers in real time.
